I came across a report from Telus’ cybersecurity group on the state of ransomware in the Canadian marketplace with some statistics about the healthcare sector included . It’s nice to see some reports that take a totally Canadian perspective without being overshadowed by our friends to the South.
Though somewhat dated, as it’s from 2021, it gives a good overview across various industries with some limited discussion about healthcare. It would be really interesting to have a similar report with a singular focus on healthcare. I think a deep-dive into the data would really help drive budgets and improve the overall cyber-resilience of healthcare institutions (however I had similar hopes about the BC Auditor General’s report on the state of healthcare cybersecurity – so far not much has improved from my perspective).
